Meet Didee 🦋

I don’t have a good update for Roseglow today. Things are at a standstill despite her team’s best efforts. We are hoping for the best, and she seems comfortable. Please keep her and Prim in your thoughts as she tries to work through this.

With that being said, I thought now would be as good a time as any to introduce sweet Didee. She is a 12 year old KWPN Dutch Harness Horse mare (Moneymaker x Tidee, by Jonker) we rescued from a kill pen in Tennessee just 12 days ago.

Somewhere along the way, this special mare fell through the cracks. As a 5 year old, she sold for good money at a well-known driving horse sale. She has several foals registered through ADHHA, but the records stop with a 2017 foal. When we picked her up, she had come through not one, but two kill sales.

I’d like to thank Erin Shea and Bill Duffy for their generous assistance to us getting her home. It wasn’t a short trip and she’s in quarantine for a month, so that was a huge help with those expenses. Also thank you to Karen Wright for her card and donation that arrived yesterday.

Didee is happy and seems to be healthy. Her feet need some work, she needs some groceries, but we are happy to have her here and are excited to get to know her better in the coming months!
